This role provides flexible, building-based support across multiple students, classrooms, and settings to assist in the implementation of academic, behavioral, social-emotional, executive functioning, and independence supports identified through IEPs, 504 plans, MTSS interventions, and building-level student support systems. The Paraeducator will offer adaptable support based on evolving student, classroom, and building needs, as directed by administrators and case managers. Responsibilities include supporting the implementation of behavior, academic, executive functioning, social-emotional, and independence strategies, assisting students in accessing instruction and participating in various educational settings, providing intermittent personal care and mobility assistance, and supporting student independence and self-regulation. Data collection and documentation are also key components, along with the utilization of assistive technology and adaptive supports. Collaboration with various school professionals and completion of required safety training are essential. The role requires flexibility and the physical ability to provide hands-on assistance, including lifting and toileting support.
