About The Position

The Panel Saw Operator operates the panel saw, ensuring familiarity with its safety features and guidelines. This role requires a keen eye for quality and involves the upkeep and maintenance of the entire panel saw area. The operator will also coordinate and work closely with the upcoming shift to determine any needs that may arise regarding changeover.

Requirements

  • Mechanical aptitude.
  • Excellent understanding of the metric system as well as the metric tools necessary to operate the machine.
  • Excellent communication skills required to ensure communication between shifts.
  • Must be able to speak, read, and write the English language for safety purposes in an understandable manner.

Nice To Haves

  • Ability to read CAD drawing preferred.
  • Prior CNC experience preferred.
  • Basic knowledge of our support system, i.e. Fourth Shift.

Responsibilities

  • Starts up and shuts down the machine.
  • Understands the programming of the panel saw along with how to locate and maneuver the programs needed to operate the machine.
  • Understands the machines codes or is able to learn this.
  • Changes blades and able to re-order blades or sharpen blades.
  • Communicates with QA and Lead to review parts or quality issues.
  • Works with QA and Lead to eliminate scrap production.
  • Conducts basic maintenance on the panel saw.
  • Is familiar with all emergency shut offs and stops or resets.
  • Understands and follows the enhanced dispatch list.
  • Enters in ECO's and puts in maintenance requests.
  • Understands and follows all lock out procedures.
  • Presence in the workplace is an essential function of this job.
