About The Position

The Winter PALS Program Specialist will instruct youth ages 5-12 and may supervise staff in specialized recreational activities. These activities include, but are not limited to, athletic sports, aquatics, culture and the arts, special interests, and inclusive recreation. The specialist will demonstrate thorough knowledge and skill in a particular specialty, instruct and apply techniques for a specialized activity or for inclusion in an activity, and organize and conduct activity and lesson plans for program participants of various age groups and abilities in a youth camp environment. The program dates are December 22, 2026 - December 31, 2026, Monday through Friday, excluding Holidays. Training dates are December 16, 2026 - December 21, 2026, with various times and locations.

Requirements

• Graduation from high school or possession of a high school equivalency diploma
• Completion of a formal course of instruction or training and at least two (2) years of experience in the specialized recreational activity
• TB Clearance (Prior to Interview)
• Must have a vehicle and a valid motor vehicle driver's license (equivalent to State of Hawaii Type 3)
• Standard CPR/First Aid AND Lifeguarding certificates (Must present certificates at interview) - for Program Specialists assigned to Pools and Beach

• One or more years of college preferred
