About The Position

Associated Recreation Council (ARC) is seeking a Summer Activity Camp: Painting (Watercolor) Instructor for the Ballard Community Center. This is a seasonal part-time role with opportunities for extension. The instructor will lead participants through various artistic mediums including drawing and watercolor, focusing on exploring art forms, learning techniques, appreciating art, and engaging in self-expression in a safe and welcoming environment. ARC, in partnership with Seattle Parks and Recreation, provides licensed childcare and recreational programs.

Requirements

  • Must be at least 18 years of age.
  • Experience in working with kids.
  • Experienced in art (painting/drawing/mixed media).

Nice To Haves

  • Youth programming experience
  • Experience in watercolor painting instruction

Responsibilities

  • Develop and deliver developmentally appropriate art lessons and activities for each art class.
  • Plan class curriculum.
  • Plan, lead, and implement course appropriate activities for each art class, focusing on creative exploration, technique development, and art appreciation.
  • Set up and clean up the space before and after each weekly lesson.
  • Generate a supply list for the program.
  • Complete required administrative reports, such as attendance logs and incident reports.
