About The Position

Associated Recreation Council (ARC) has a role for you as Adult Pottery Instructor at Ballard Community Center. This is a seasonal part-time role. ARC, in partnership with Seattle Parks and Recreation, serves Seattle by offering access to licensed childcare and a variety of recreational and lifelong learning programs, classes, and activities. The Adult Pottery Instructor must be able to plan age-appropriate activities for 16+ year-old students. Experience in teaching pottery specifically is required. Must have enough experience on a pottery wheel to be able to provide demonstrations and work with students one-on-one for wheel thrown pieces. Other tasks include loading, firing, and unloading the kiln.

Requirements

  • Experience in teaching pottery specifically.
  • Enough experience on a pottery wheel to be able to provide demonstrations and work with students one-on-one for wheel thrown pieces.
  • Must be 18 years of age or older.
  • Demonstrated working experience working with families, community members and partners to foster positive relationships.

Responsibilities
