Full-time Painter
About The Position
The Painter maintains the resort’s building systems and envelope to help ensure the safety of guests, associates, and vendors. The role supports compliance with engineering practices, preventative maintenance programs, operating procedures, company values, and applicable building, fire, and health codes, while looking for ways to improve energy efficiency. The Painter prepares, paints, and finishes interior and exterior surfaces and structures, including buildings, furniture, and equipment. Work includes surface preparation and repairs, paint matching and application, wallpaper and vinyl wall-covering work, drywall and texturing maintenance, equipment operation, and safe handling and disposal of hazardous materials. The position also involves responding courteously to guest questions and requests, following attendance requirements, and performing other related duties as assigned.
Requirements
- High school degree or GED.
- Three years of hands-on experience with minor painting and wallpaper application.
- Experience with sheetrock, painting, and vinyl wall covering.
- Ability to climb ladders, carry heavy equipment, and stand for long periods.
- Ability to climb, read, stand, walk, and routinely lift 25 to 50 pounds, with or without reasonable accommodation.
- Ability to receive instructions and communicate progress on work assignments.
- Effective verbal and written communication skills, including adapting communication style to different audiences.
- Availability to comply with attendance rules and work on a regular basis.

Responsibilities
- Prepare painting surfaces by washing walls, repairing holes, removing old paint, scraping, sanding, torching, and smoothing surfaces.
- Plan and prepare painting work efficiently, protect surrounding areas, move furniture and equipment, remove fixtures, and tape off areas as needed.
- Mix, match, tint, and apply paints and other finishes to interior and exterior surfaces, buildings, furniture, equipment, and other structures.
- Apply protective and decorative coats of paint, varnish, lacquer, and related materials.
- Install, repair, and maintain drywall, wall texturing, and ceiling acoustic texturing.
- Repair and install wall vinyl and wallpaper.
- Operate compressors, stripping machines, sandblasters, spray equipment, and other small powered equipment.
- Clean up supplies and replace fixtures after projects are complete; maintain indoor and outdoor painted areas.
- Identify, safely handle, and appropriately dispose of paints, stains, preparatory and undercoating materials, and other hazardous materials.
- Help maintain building systems and the building envelope, follow preventative maintenance procedures and applicable codes, and look for energy-saving opportunities.
- Respond courteously to guest questions, complaints, and requests to support guest satisfaction.
- Follow attendance rules and be available to work regularly; perform other related duties as assigned.
