Requirements
- Proven experience in industrial or marine blasting and painting
- Understanding of coating systems, blast profiles, and mil-thickness requirements
- Ability to work safely in demanding environments, including heights and confined spaces
- Strong attention to detail, dependability, and teamwork
- Requires a minimum 3 or more years experience as a painter/blaster.
Responsibilities
- Perform abrasive blasting and painting operations using specialized marine coatings.
- Apply coatings to meet specific contract, specification, and quality requirements.
- Interpret and follow blasting and painting standards, including: Surface preparation and blast profiles, Mil thickness requirements, Environmental and application tolerances.
- Execute blasting and painting tasks as directed by supervision across various shipyard environments.
- Follow all safety procedures that meet — and often exceed — industry standards.
- Identify and correct blast and paint deficiencies as required by the contract specifications.
- Perform all blast requirements and functions utilizing all applications.
- Hook up airlines to the manifold and spray horizontal, vertical and side to side.
- Sand blast and demonstrate how to utilize each part of the blast equipment.
