Requirements

Minimum 3 years of pipewelding experience.
Experience in Gas Tungsten Arc Welding (GTAW), also known as Tungsten Inert Gas (TIG) welding.
Experience with Shielded Metal Arc Welding (SMAW) also known as "stick welding”.
Ability to pass military standard X-Ray welding test on stainless steel and copper nickel in the 6G position (restricted).
Ability to pass a military specification welding assessment in the vertical (3G), horizontal (2G) and overhead (4G) positions.
Pipe welding test is given in a restricted position (6 G) on a 5'' schedule 80 carbon steel pipe.
GTAW (TIG) process used for root pass, 11018 electrode used for weld fill portion and cap.

Responsibilities

Performing pipe welding procedures on Stainless Steel and Copper-Nickel pipe using Gas tungsten arc welding (GTAW), also known as tungsten inert gas (TIG) welding.
Working in an around the clock manufacturing setting.
Working at different heights, confined spaces, different weather conditions as well as multiple shifts 24 hours a day.
May be required to work either day or night dependent upon the number of ships under construction at any one point in time.
Practicing working safely in all situations with safety procedures meeting, and most times, exceeding industry standards.
Utilizing various welding processes, including Shielded Metal Arc Welding (SMAW) also known as "stick welding” and Flux-Core Arc Welding (FCAW) also known as “wire welding.”
