Requirements

Minimum 3 years of pipe welding experience.
Experience in Gas Tungsten Arc Welding (GTAW), also known as Tungsten Inert Gas (TIG) welding.
Experience in Shielded Metal Arc Welding (SMAW) also known as "stick welding".
Ability to pass military standard X-Ray welding test on stainless steel and copper nickel in the 6G position (restricted).
Ability to pass a military specification welding assessment in the vertical (3G), horizontal (2G) and overhead (4G) positions.
Pipe welding test is given in a restricted position (6 G) on a 5'' schedule 80 carbon steel pipe.
Proficiency in using GTAW (TIG) process for root pass and 11018 electrode for weld fill portion and cap.

Responsibilities

Performing pipe welding procedures on Stainless Steel and Copper-Nickel pipe using Gas tungsten arc welding (GTAW), also known as tungsten inert gas (TIG) welding.
Working at different heights, confined spaces, and in various weather conditions.
Potentially working multiple shifts, 24 hours a day, including day or night shifts depending on the number of ships under construction.
Practicing safe working procedures that meet or exceed industry standards.
Utilizing various welding processes including Shielded Metal Arc Welding (SMAW) also known as "stick welding" and Flux-Core Arc Welding (FCAW) also known as "wire welding."
