About The Position

The Painter Blaster prepares wood and metal surfaces for painting and paints equipment, parts, machinery, buildings, and other work areas using a spray gun, brush, or roller. The role follows work orders and verbal instructions and performs surface preparation and coating application, including work at heights. Other duties may be assigned.

Requirements

• 3–5 years of journeyman-level experience.
• Must be able to work at heights without fear.
• Must be legally authorized to work for any employer in the United States; the company cannot sponsor or take over sponsorship of an employment visa.
• Physical ability to regularly sit; use hands to finger, handle, or feel; and reach with hands and arms.
• Physical ability to frequently stand, walk, climb or balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl, and talk or hear and taste or smell.
• Ability to regularly lift and/or move up to 25 pounds and frequently lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.
• Vision abilities including close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.

Responsibilities

• Read work orders and receive verbal instructions.
• Prepare surfaces by removing dirt, oil, grease, and old paint; smooth cracks; and fill holes.
• Fill cavities and dents with putty as needed to create a smooth surface.
• Select and mix coating liquid to produce the specified color, using a paddle or mechanical mixer.
• Erect scaffolding or set up ladders to work above ground level as needed.
• Apply paint using a spray gun, brush, and/or roller.
• Paint equipment, parts, machinery, buildings, and other work areas.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
