About The Position

The Painter Helper assists painters in preparing wood and metal surfaces for painting and painting equipment, parts, machinery, buildings, and other work areas. Work may involve using spray guns, brushes, and rollers. The role includes following work orders and verbal instructions, preparing and smoothing surfaces, and working above ground level when needed. Other duties may be assigned.

Requirements

• Must be legally authorized to work for any employer in the United States; visa sponsorship is not available.
• Able to work at heights without fear.

Nice To Haves

• At least 6 months of experience in an industrial setting is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Read work orders and receive instructions verbally.
• Prepare surfaces by removing dirt, oil, grease, and old paint; smoothing cracks; and filling holes.
• Fill cavities and dents with putty to create a smooth surface, as needed.
• Erect scaffolding or set up ladders to perform work above ground level, as needed.
• Apply paint to surfaces using a brush and/or roller.
• Help paint equipment, parts, machinery, buildings, and other work areas using a spray gun, brush, or roller.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
