About The Position

The Painter Blaster prepares wood and metal surfaces for painting and applies paint to equipment, parts, machinery, buildings, and other work areas using a spray gun, brush, or roller. The position follows written work orders and verbal instructions and may include working at heights, erecting scaffolding, or setting up ladders. Other duties may be assigned.

Requirements

• 3–5 years of journeyman-level experience.
• Must be able to work at heights without fear.
• Must be legally authorized to work for any employer in the United States; visa sponsorship is not available.
• Must be able to meet the physical demands of the job, including regularly lifting and/or moving up to 25 pounds and frequently lifting and/or moving up to 50 pounds.
• Required vision abilities include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.

Responsibilities

• Read work orders and receive verbal instructions.
• Prepare surfaces by removing dirt, oil, grease, and old paint; smoothing cracks; and filling holes.
• Fill cavities and dents with putty as needed to create a smooth surface.
• Select and mix coating liquid to produce the desired color according to specifications, using a paddle or mechanical mixer.
• Erect scaffolding or set up ladders to perform work above ground level as needed.
• Apply paint to surfaces using a spray gun, brush, and/or roller.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
