About The Position

This position involves applying dope, lacquer, paint, and other finishing materials to aircraft, equipment, and facilities. The role requires preparing surfaces by removing foreign substances and old paint, masking areas not to be painted, and applying primers and fillers to ensure smooth and uniform coatings. The painter must be able to match colors for spot or repair jobs and may be responsible for mixing paints to the desired colors and consistencies. Additionally, the role includes polishing the final coat, performing rework, and applying lettering with stencils.

Requirements

• Three (3) years’ experience as an Aircraft Painter.
• Must be a U.S. person within the meaning of ITAR (U.S. Citizen, U.S. Permanent Resident, Political Asylee, or Refugee).

Responsibilities

• Applies dope, lacquer, paint, and other finishing material to finish or refinish aircraft, equipment, and facilities.
• Prepares surfaces for painting by removing all foreign substances, removes old or chipped paint.
• Masks surfaces not to be painted.
• Applies primers and fillers and rubs intermediate coats to assure smooth and uniforms coating to avoid streaks and blemishes.
• Must be able to match colors for spot or repair jobs.
• May prepare and mix paints to desired colors and consistencies.
• Polishes final coat with wax or polishing compound.
• Does rework as required.
• Performs lettering with stencils.
