About The Position

This position involves performing material bonding processes according to blueprints, specifications, and drawings. The Material Bonder A will prepare parts, apply bonding agents, and operate pressure furnaces to ensure successful bonding. This role requires adherence to safety protocols and quality checks throughout the process. Additionally, the position requires the use of information subject to ITAR regulations, necessitating that all applicants be U.S. persons.

Requirements

  • Two (2) years metal fitting or forming experience, with at least one (1) year in bonding work including pressure furnace operation.
  • OR two (2) years of Bell Material Bonder B or Material Bonder – I classification experience.
  • OR one (1) year of Bell Material Bonder B experience combined with one (1) year of metal fitting or forming experience.
  • Must be a U.S. person (U.S. Citizen, U.S. Permanent Resident, Political Asylee, or Refugee) due to ITAR regulations.

Responsibilities

  • Performing layouts and preparing parts for pressure bonding based on blueprints, Bell Process Specifications, drawings, or written specifications.
  • Planning operations and performing assembling, fitting, and trimming as required.
  • Applying liquid or solid bonding agents.
  • Using various production aids, including jigs, fixtures, and hand tools.
  • Checking work to ensure proper bonding agent selection and application, and correct assembly and fitting.
  • Placing articles in a pressure furnace and controlling heat, pressure, and timing according to specifications.
  • Monitoring furnace controls during the bonding process to ensure successful bonds and prevent damage.
  • Checking finished articles.
  • Ensuring safe operation of equipment.
