About The Position
The Paint Prepper prepares vehicle surfaces for paint application by removing grease, dirt, paint, and rust; filling and smoothing small dents or scratches; and assisting with pre-paint blending. The role works with the paint team to keep vehicles on schedule for delivery, buffs and waxes finished paintwork, and cleans and reassembles sprayers and power equipment. Compensation is commission/flag rate, with flag pay guaranteed to meet local minimum wage requirements for all hours worked each week.
Requirements
- Prior experience in the vehicle paint process.
- Ability to receive directions and work well with others.
- Must be able to pass a thorough background check.
Nice To Haves
- I-CAR certifications preferred.
Responsibilities
- Remove grease, dirt, paint, or rust from vehicle surfaces in preparation for paint application using abrasives, solvents, brushes, blowtorches, washing tanks, or sandblasters.
- Assist the painter with pre-paint blending needs.
- Work with the paint team to help keep vehicles on track for scheduled delivery.
- Fill small dents or scratches with body fillers and smooth surfaces to prepare vehicles for painting.
- Buff and wax finished paintwork.
- Disassemble, clean, and reassemble sprayers and power equipment using solvents, wire brushes, and cloths.
