Paint Prepper
About The Position
Holman is hiring a part-time Paint Prepper to prepare truck bodies and parts for the paint department at its Bartlett, Illinois location. The schedule is flexible within Monday–Friday hours of 6:00 a.m. to 2:30 p.m.; shifts are posted in four-hour increments, up to 29 hours per week. The posted pay rate is $21 per hour. The role involves inspecting truck bodies, removing sand scratches and surface imperfections, cleaning parts and bodies, applying phosphate solutions and seam sealer, and preparing parts for painting while meeting quality and safety standards. The Paint Prepper must operate tools and industrial equipment safely and follow company procedures.
Requirements
- Previous industrial prep experience.
- Strong attention to detail.
- Ability to safely use electrical and power tools.
- Commitment to following company standards for procedures, quality, attendance, and performance.
- Must pass a physical, drug test, and background check before employment.

Responsibilities
- Inspect truck bodies and remove sand scratches or surface imperfections.
- Clean parts and bodies thoroughly using a power washer and automotive-grade soap.
- Apply phosphate solutions to promote proper paint adhesion.
- Apply seam sealer to unwelded areas to prevent rust.
- Prepare parts for the paint department while meeting quality and safety standards.
- Operate tools and industrial equipment safely and correctly, following company procedures.
