About The Position

Crash Champions is hiring a Paint Prepper to prepare vehicle surfaces for paint application and support the paint team in completing repairs on schedule. This position is paid on a commission/flag rate structure, with flag pay guaranteed to meet local minimum wage requirements for all hours worked each week. The posting lists an average flag pay range of $49,600 to $100,000 per year for a typical full-time employee. Requirements

• Prior experience in the vehicle paint process.
• Ability to receive directions and work well with others.
• Must be able to pass a thorough background check.

• I-CAR certifications preferred.

Responsibilities

• Remove grease, dirt, paint, and rust from vehicle surfaces in preparation for painting, using abrasives, solvents, brushes, blowtorches, washing tanks, or sandblasters.
• Assist the painter with pre-paint blending needs.
• Work with the paint team to keep vehicles on track for scheduled delivery.
• Fill small dents or scratches with body fillers and smooth surfaces to prepare vehicles for painting.
• Buff and wax finished paintwork.
• Disassemble, clean, and reassemble sprayers and power equipment using solvents, wire brushes, and cloths.
