About The Position
Crash Champions is hiring a Paint Prepper to prepare vehicle surfaces for paint application and support the paint team in completing repairs on schedule. The position is paid on a commission/flag-rate structure, with flag pay guaranteed to meet local minimum-wage requirements for all hours worked each week. The listed compensation range represents the average flag pay range for a typical full-time employee in this position: $40,000 to $95,400 per year.
Requirements
- Prior experience in the vehicle paint process.
- Ability to receive directions and work well with others.
- Must be able to pass a thorough background check.
Nice To Haves
- I-CAR certifications preferred.
Responsibilities
- Remove grease, dirt, paint, and rust from vehicle surfaces in preparation for paint application, using abrasives, solvents, brushes, blowtorches, washing tanks, or sandblasters.
- Assist the painter with pre-paint blending needs.
- Work with the paint team to help keep vehicles on track for scheduled delivery times.
- Fill small dents or scratches with body fillers and smooth surfaces to prepare vehicles for painting.
- Buff and wax finished paintwork.
- Disassemble, clean, and reassemble sprayers and power equipment, using solvents, wire brushes, and cloths.
