About The Position

The Division of Pain Medicine at Mayo Clinic Arizona in Phoenix, AZ is seeking a pain medicine physician to join their practice. This role involves collaborating with 6 additional physicians and 2 Advanced Practice Providers, focusing on adult care with an emphasis on interventional practice. The position offers the full scope of procedures and multidisciplinary pain care at the Mayo Clinic Phoenix hospital campus, working closely with colleagues in Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation and Neurosurgery. This is a full-time position primarily in the outpatient setting, with coverage of the inpatient pain service. An academic appointment with the Mayo Clinic College of Medicine will be considered based on merit. Opportunities for growth in educational, research, and administrative areas may be available.

Requirements

  • Physician (MD or DO)
  • ACGME certified pain medicine fellowship training
  • Board-certification/board-eligibility in Pain Medicine
  • Board-certification/board-eligibility in their base specialty
  • Interest in clinical management of pain patients with complex medical histories via a multi-disciplinary collaborative approach
  • Ability to perform a wide range of fluoroscopic pain medicine procedures
  • Ability to perform a breadth of spinal injections
  • Ability to perform radiofrequency ablations
  • Ability to perform peripheral and spine stimulator trials
  • Ability to perform ultrasound-guided procedures
  • Ability to manage intrathecal pumps
  • Ability to perform advanced procedures, and newer and upcoming procedures and techniques
  • Willingness to educate and supervise fellows, residents, and medical students
  • Willingness to work within care teams incorporating Advanced Practice Providers and nursing

Responsibilities

  • Provide adult care with a focus on interventional pain medicine.
  • Perform the full scope of pain medicine procedures, including spinal injections, radiofrequency ablations, peripheral and spine stimulator trials, ultrasound-guided procedures, intrathecal pump management, and advanced/newer techniques.
  • Collaborate with colleagues in Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation and Neurosurgery.
  • Manage outpatient pain patients with complex medical histories.
  • Cover the inpatient pain service.
  • Educate and supervise fellows, residents, and medical students.
  • Work within care teams incorporating Advanced Practice Providers and nursing.
