West Virginia University School of Medicine and the Department of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation are recruiting a Pain Medicine physiatrist. The candidate will practice in Wheeling, WV. Candidates should possess excellent clinical skills and a strong interest in education and research. Clinical and basic science research is encouraged and supported. Laboratory facilities are also available. All faculty are required to take an active role in our integrated residency in Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation. Qualified candidates will have a special interest in the medical management of rehabilitation needs for neurologic, general rehabilitation patients, with procedural skills in spasticity management. Electrodiagnostic procedures are available. The West Virginia University Health System is West Virginia’s largest health system and the state’s largest employer. The System has undergone significant expansion in specialty and sub-specialty care in areas such as cancer, heart and vascular, and neuroscience, among many others. The Health System operates West Virginia’s first and only multi-organ transplant center, and opened a new, 150-bed Children’s Hospital in September 2022. The Health System includes more than 20 member hospitals that collectively serve a multi-state region that includes West Virginia, Western Maryland, Eastern Ohio, and Southwestern Pennsylvania.
