About The Position

The University of Maryland St. Joseph Medical Center, a member of the University of Maryland Medical System, is seeking a Board Eligible/Board Certified Pain Physician to join the UM SJMC Spine Institute in Towson, Maryland. This physician will join the brand new, state-of-the-art, multispecialty Pain and Spine Center located on St. Joseph Medical Center campus. This pain specialist will work alongside a highly collegial, well-established group of Spine and Pain Management/Interventional Pain physicians, as well as a strong team of APPs. A large, existing patient panel is in place with additional growth expected. The physician will be expected to perform detailed clinical assessment of patients and formulate a treatment plan. The applicant will be expected to perform interventional procedures – Epidural steroid injections, Facet blocks and Rhizotomy, Major joints injections, Peripheral nerve blocks, Spinal cord stimulation trial and Peripheral nerve stimulations. An opportunity is available for the physician to perform Advanced Pain interventional procedures – Minimally invasive lumbar decompression (MILD), SI joint fusion, Spinal cord stimulation Implant and Basivertebral nerve ablation (BVNA). Mentorship is available for new fellowship graduates to become proficient in these Advanced procedures. The ideal candidate will be fellowship trained in pain management and will be BE/BC in pain. Board-Certified anesthesiologists specializing in Pain are highly encouraged to apply. EPIC EMR is utilized. This role offers a Monday through Friday work schedule, supportive of a strong work/life balance.

Requirements

  • License to practice medicine in the state of Maryland
  • Board Eligible or Board Certified in area of specialization
  • Successful completion of residency/fellowship training in area of specialization
  • Fellowship trained in pain management
  • BE/BC in pain
