About The Position

Inova is looking for a dedicated Pain Medicine APP (NP/PA) to join their team. This role will be Full Time, working Monday through Friday from 8:00 am to 4:30 pm. Requirements

• Graduate of an accredited Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant program.
• Master's degree required.
• Ability to successfully complete the credentialing process by third-party payors.
• Ability to enrolled as a CMS Medicare/Medicaid payor.
• Successful completion of credentialing for Medical Staff membership and appropriate clinical privileges sufficient to perform all required services.

Nice To Haves

• Minimum of one year of clinical experience as an Advanced Practice Provider preferred.
• Prior experience in Pain Medicine, Physical Medicine & Rehabilitation, Orthopedics, Neurology, Neurosurgery, Anesthesiology, Primary Care, or a related specialty is preferred.
• Experience evaluating and managing patients with acute and chronic pain conditions is desirable.
• Prior APP experience in Neurosciences, Pain Medicine, Spine or Psychiatry.

Responsibilities

• Seeing a mix of new patients and established patients to collaborate and support 1 physician at the Loudoun pain clinic, as well as supporting additional physicians at other locations in Fairfax and Fair Oaks as needed.
• Obtain comprehensive medical and pain histories.
• Performed focused physical exams (spinal, motor and musculoskeletal).
• Management and assessment of Acute and Chronic (mostly) pain management.
• Recommend pharmacology options such as non-opioid management.
• Patient education.
• Care coordination to include: Assessing behavior comorbidities, referring to pain psychologist on staff when appropriate, Rehabilitation, Procedural interventions, Neurosurgery referrals.
• Procedures if interested: Trigger point and joint injections.
