Mindrift is conducting an in-person research study about how people communicate and interact in everyday group conversations. Adults in the Santa Clara Valley (South Bay) area are invited to participate in a guided conversation session. Participants join a small group of 2–4 people and discuss everyday, non-sensitive topics with a trained moderator. Each session lasts about 90 minutes and is recorded on video and audio for research purposes. Participation is voluntary and covered by a signed consent form explaining what is involved and how recordings are used and stored. Participants may ask questions at any point and may withdraw. Eligible applicants register on Mindrift and complete a short screening questionnaire; those who qualify are invited to book a session. Each participant takes part once. The study runs from November 2026 through March 2027, with sessions held in person on weekdays. Participants receive $110 after completing the session. Travel costs are not covered.
