About The Position
Shriners Children’s is seeking a full-time Pediatric Registered Nurse for their PACU. This role offers day shifts with no night or weekend assignments. The Surgical Services Unit is recognized for high patient satisfaction, and the nurse will play a key role in the care of pediatric orthopedic patients and their families. The position offers the chance to join a high-performing team of healthcare professionals.
Requirements
- Associates degree in nursing (ADN)
- RN license in state of practice (SC)
- Basic Life Support (BLS)
- Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS)
- Pediatric Emergency Assessment, Recognition and Stabilization (PEARS), obtained within one year of employment as required by hospital
Nice To Haves
- Bachelor’s degree in nursing (BSN)
- 2 years of nursing experience in an acute care hospital
- Pediatric and/or orthopedic experience
Responsibilities
- Coordination of nursing care, including direct patient care, patient/family education, and transitions of care in the operating room.
- Support of professional nursing practice across practice settings and across the continuum of care to meet patient and family needs.
- Functioning within the Shriners Hospitals for Children Professional Practice Model (FOCUSED), including accountability for planning, implementing, evaluating, and communicating all phases of nursing care for assigned patients.
- Providing leadership through activities such as preceptor roles, informal and formal leadership roles, and quality improvement efforts.
- Delegating patient care according to skill level, experience, patient acuity, fiscal accountability, and availability of resources.
- Utilizing excellent communication skills, mentoring, and teaching abilities.
- Potential participation in committees or projects.
