The PACT Representative I role is responsible for seamlessly linking the patient experience between PACT and the practice site by utilizing facility/provider information and established policies and procedures. This position assists inbound callers using resources and critical thinking skills, and makes outbound calls when necessary. The representative identifies and escalates complex problems and questions for resolution, and performs basic technical troubleshooting for online applications, systems, or access issues. Key responsibilities include scheduling patient appointments, coordinating cancellations, reschedules, and additions, as well as obtaining and verifying demographic and insurance information. The role ensures accuracy of information, updates medical records, and applies knowledge of payer requirements. Additionally, the PACT Representative I identifies emergent calls, follows procedures for immediate transfer to a Registered Nurse for triaging, and maintains competency in emergency situation guidelines. The position determines patient needs to route them for triage, scheduling, medication refill requests, and provider paging. Providing excellent customer service according to departmental standards, asking clarifying questions, presenting options, and escalating only necessary situations are crucial. The role also assists with organizational marketing efforts, maintains databases, and performs additional duties as needed. Efficient utilization of all information systems is required.
