The PACT Representative I is responsible for seamlessly linking the patient experience between PACT and the practice site by utilizing facility/provider information and established policies and procedures. This role involves assisting inbound callers using resources and critical thinking skills, making outbound calls when necessary, and recognizing and escalating complex problems. The representative will perform basic technical troubleshooting for online applications, systems, or access issues, and coordinate patient appointments including cancellations and reschedules. Key duties include obtaining and verifying demographic and insurance information, ensuring accuracy, and updating records according to government and third-party payer requirements. The role also involves identifying emergent calls, following procedures for immediate transfer to a Registered Nurse for triaging, and adhering to guidelines for emergency situations and critical call handling. The PACT Representative I determines patient needs to route them for triage, scheduling, medication refill requests, and paging providers. They are expected to provide excellent customer service, ask clarifying questions, present options, and escalate only necessary situations. Additionally, the role supports organizational marketing efforts by providing information and referrals, maintaining databases, and performing other duties as assigned. Maintaining knowledge and efficient utilization of all information systems is crucial.
