The PACT Representative I role is responsible for seamlessly linking the patient experience between PACT and the practice site by utilizing facility/provider information and established policies and procedures. This role involves assisting inbound callers with resources and critical thinking skills, making outbound calls when necessary, and escalating complex problems and questions for resolution. The representative will also perform basic technical troubleshooting for online applications, systems, or access issues. Key responsibilities include scheduling patient appointments, coordinating cancellations and reschedules, obtaining and verifying demographic and insurance information, and ensuring accuracy by updating information as needed, applying knowledge of payer requirements. The role also involves completing essential forms, verifying and updating medical records, identifying emergent calls for immediate transfer to a Registered Nurse for triaging, and adhering to guidelines for emergency situations and critical call handling. The PACT Representative I determines patient needs to route them for triage, scheduling, rescheduling, canceling appointments, submitting medication refill requests, and paging providers and facilities. They are expected to provide customer service according to departmental standards, ask clarifying questions, present options, and escalate only necessary situations. Additionally, the role supports organizational marketing efforts by providing information and referrals, maintaining databases, and performing additional duties as needed. Maintaining knowledge and efficient utilization of all information systems is also crucial.
