About The Position

Responsible for promptly responding to patients and/or guarantors regarding medical billing questions and concerns. Communicates with patient and/or guarantor throughout the research until resolution.

Requirements

  • Must be a high school graduate or equivalent
  • Must have 2 or more years Customer Service experience, preferably in a healthcare related Business Office
  • Excellent communication skills required
  • Understanding of Fair Debt and Collection Practices Act (FDCPA) strongly preferred
  • Must possess good physical health.
  • Standing, sitting or walking for long periods of time.
  • Lifting at least 20 pounds is required.
  • Constant (67%-100%) - talking, hearing, seeing
  • Frequently (34%-66%) - NONE
  • Occasionally (1%-33%) - lifting, carrying, pushing/pulling, climbing (stairs, ladders, poles, etc.), balancing, stooping, crouching, crawling, reaching, handling/feeling

Nice To Haves

  • Preferred knowledge of Medicare, Medicaid, and Managed Care programs; including billing and authorization requirements
  • Preferred knowledge of payor payment methodologies and have an understanding of how patient liability amounts are determined
