The PACS Administrator manages the Picture Archiving and Communication System (PACS) to ensure seamless operation, maintenance, and accessibility of medical imaging within the healthcare facility. This role supports clinical teams by maintaining system integrity, troubleshooting issues, and upholding high standards for data security and patient privacy. The PACS Administrator collaborates with IT, radiologists, and other stakeholders to optimize system functionality and user satisfaction. Essential Functions include managing day-to-day operations of the PACS, serving as a liaison between the healthcare facility, PACS vendors, radiologists, and other associated parties, providing user training and ongoing support, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements, monitoring system performance, investigating and proposing solutions to operational challenges, administering system access, facilitating data storage and retrieval, ensuring compliance with data security and privacy standards, and collaborating with IT and clinical staff to integrate PACS with other hospital systems.
