About The Position

The organization is an independent service district in a clinically integrated partnership with Ochsner Health System, working together to align healthcare services for patients and families in west St. Tammany Parish and surrounding regions. The PACS Rep is responsible for promptly addressing medical billing inquiries and concerns from patients and/or guarantors, and for maintaining communication throughout the research process until a resolution is achieved.
Requirements
- Must be a high school graduate or equivalent
- Must have 2 or more years Customer Service experience, preferably in a healthcare related Business Office
- Excellent communication skills required
Nice To Haves
- Preferred knowledge of Medicare, Medicaid, and Managed Care programs; including billing and authorization requirements
- Preferred knowledge of payor payment methodologies and have an understanding of how patient liability amounts are determined
- Understanding of Fair Debt and Collection Practices Act (FDCPA) strongly preferred
Responsibilities
- Responsible for promptly responding to patients and/or guarantors regarding medical billing questions and concerns
- Communicates with patient and/or guarantor throughout the research until resolution
