About The Position

The Packing Line role supports product inspection, packaging, and movement through the production and shipping process. The employee operates and maintains packaging equipment, checks product quality, prepares and packs finished products, and keeps the packaging area and reusable trays clean and organized. The role also includes transporting wrapped pallets to the shipping staging area for a QA check and release to the freezer, along with other duties as assigned. Employees are responsible for reporting food safety issues promptly to a supervisor or management staff and following Highland Baking Company’s health and safety regulations, including current Good Manufacturing Practices, proper PPE use, and color-coding policies. The position requires teamwork, the ability to follow instructions, and careful, accurate, responsible, and alert work.

Requirements

Knowledge of products manufactured by Highland Baking.
Knowledge of health and safety regulations, including cGMPs, proper PPE use, and color-coding policies.
Ability to use various machines.

Responsibilities

Operate and maintain packaging machines; inspect and select products.
Clean and organize the packaging area.
Check the quality of prepared products.
Arrange product racks at the beginning of the corresponding packing line.
Place finished products on a conveyor, slicer machine, or bagger machine.
Assess the quality of finished products and select them accordingly.
Clean trays, molds, and pans, and arrange them on pallets for reuse.
Place packed products in pre-assembled, labeled boxes or plastic trays.
Stack product boxes according to specifications.
Transport stacked products to the wrapping machine.
Transport wrapped pallets to the shipping staging area for a QA check and release to the freezer.
Report food safety issues promptly to a supervisor or management staff.
Perform other duties as assigned.
