About The Position

The Packer operates equipment used to package products at Sunshine Metals, Inc. The role prepares materials for shipment, handles inventory information, and helps ensure materials are packaged and staged according to customer requirements and shipping documents. The Packer must follow company safety rules, quality standards, and handbook policies while maintaining an organized work area.

Requirements

High school diploma or equivalent.
Computer skills.
Good written and oral communication skills.
Good reading and math skills.
Good organizational, problem-solving, and time-management skills.
Ability to measure using different tools.
Ability to work independently on assigned tasks and accept direction.
Ability to maintain integrity and positive relations with co-workers, customers, and suppliers.
Strong work ethic and self-motivation.

Nice To Haves

One or more years of warehouse experience.
Fork truck experience.

Responsibilities

Pull and move material within the warehouse safely using a crane or fork truck.
Prepare packaging material for shipping according to customer requirements.
Assemble skids and other shipping containers as needed.
Measure dimensions and gauge material with a micrometer.
Confirm material specifications on inventory tags for orders being shipped.
Stage material for shipping according to bills of lading.
Generate inventory tags for material being received.
Enter inventory tag data into the computer system.
Obtain appropriate signatures on bills of lading.
Maintain shipping supplies.
Keep the immediate work area clean and organized throughout the day.
Use precision when operating tools such as tape measures, micrometers, nibblers, and calipers.
Follow Sunshine Metals’ safety rules, regulations, and quality standards.
Follow Sunshine Metals’ handbook policies and procedures.
