About The Position

The Packer works in an indoor poultry processing and packaging environment. Conditions vary by work station and may include cold refrigerators or freezers, as well as high humidity and moisture from sanitation and processing operations. Workers must wear appropriate personal protective equipment, which may include bump caps, hairnets, rubber boots, ear protection, protective gloves, and eye protection. Tools vary depending on the assigned placement. Regular, dependable attendance is an essential function of the position. Pay is $20.00 per hour, with an additional $1.00 per hour for hours worked between 7:00 p.m. and 11:59 p.m. and an additional $2.00 per hour for hours worked between 12:00 a.m. and 4:59 a.m.

Requirements

• Many positions require standing for eight hours or more on a concrete floor.
• Ability to perform rapid, repetitive movements and grasping with the hand.
• Ability to work in a cold, damp environment.
• Many positions require frequently lifting up to 85 pounds.
• Ability to push and pull up to 85 pounds.
• Some positions require repeated bending and stooping.
• Must submit to and pass a criminal background check.
