About The Position

The General Labor position performs entry-level duties in Foster Poultry Farms’ production work area and may be assigned to roles such as Fryer Grader, Packer, Sanitation Worker, Supply Attendant, Product Inspector, or Stacker. The position works with department supervisors, leads, and processing team members to support accurate processing and delivery of quality products. As a Packer, the employee packs the appropriate number of frozen corndogs into boxes using proper equipment and procedures, and visually inspects and grades products for production lines. Depending on assignment, duties may also include monitoring fryer stick bars, removing and sorting product, maintaining sanitation and food safety, inspecting product, stacking cases on pallets, operating a pallet jack, and managing PPE supplies and designated areas.

Responsibilities

• Pack the appropriate number of frozen corndogs in boxes using proper equipment and procedures.
• Visually inspect and grade product to determine grade for production lines.
• When assigned as a Fryer Grader, monitor stick bar assemblies for broken sticks and notify the Fryer Operator when broken sticks are observed; use a handheld counter and flashlight as needed.
• When assigned as a Fryer Grader, remove B-grade product from the line, keep product separated and transfers to the freezer clean, and notify a Sanitation or Condemn Room Attendant Team Member when the condemn barrel is full.
• When assigned to Sanitation, maintain good housekeeping and sanitary conditions on the production floor and help maintain quality and food safety in compliance with company standards and USDA requirements.
• When assigned as a Product Inspector, visually and physically inspect product at any process step and notify leadership of consistent abnormalities.
• When assigned as a Stacker, stack frozen corndog cases on pallets according to required patterns and transport them with a pallet jack while meeting quality, productivity, and safety standards.
• When assigned as a Supply Attendant, maintain and organize the PPE supply room, clean designated areas, monitor PPE inventory, and distribute PPE according to GMP policies and procedures.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
