About The Position
The Packer is responsible for the production and/or packaging of a variety of manufactured products. This role involves performing production duties, ensuring product quality, and adhering to safety and manufacturing practices.
Requirements
- Understand and follow basic verbal and written instructions
- Must work well in a team environment and have strong communication skills
- Must be able to work in a fast-paced environment
- Must be willing to learn and have attention to detail
- Must have the ability to work extended hours while standing
- Must have good job performance and attendance records
Responsibilities
- Perform production duties such as manual lifting, packaging, taping, labeling operations and sorting
- Examine all finished product to ensure that packing specifications are met, date code is applied
- Inspect product for flaws or defects
- Ensure correct counts, bags and boxes according to job specifications
- Assist in changeovers and work stoppages to clean work area and equipment using cleaning solutions
- Follow all Good Manufacturing Practices while in production areas
- Adhere to and enforce procedures in regards to Food Defense, Safety, and HACCP
- Report all accidents, incidents, safety violations, near misses or unsafe conditions to a supervisor
- Report defective materials or questionable conditions to the department supervisor
- Break down cardboard for recycling and separate waste as per company’s policy
- Perform related duties as required by supervisor
