About The Position

The Packer/Inspector removes finished product from machines and inspects it to ensure it meets quality specifications and packaging requirements in the production work order. The role follows customer and production instructions for packaging, labeling, quality checks, paperwork, and safe, orderly work practices. This is a day-shift position.

Requirements

• Know how to read and use a tape measure and weigh scale.
• Able to lift 50 pounds.
• Manual dexterity.
• Able to work in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

• Remove finished product from machines and inspect it for quality specifications and defects.
• Read work orders for product specifications and special packaging instructions, including skids, cartons, cradles, banding, and samples.
• Assist with machinery start-up and order changeovers.
• Perform required quality checks on all orders regularly.
• Follow packaging requirements in the Production Work Order.
• Enter production in JDE, print required paperwork, and close out the last skid of an order.
• Complete at least one Work Place Observation per month.
• Apply customer labels neatly to cartons or gaylords and follow customer identification sheets, tally sheets, and barcode requirements.
• Follow AIB Good Manufacturing Practices and written procedures.
• Maintain a clean, orderly work area and observe housekeeping and safety requirements.
• Keep paperwork organized and separate from paperwork for completed or upcoming orders.
