About The Position

The Packer II wraps, protects, and packs machinery, equipment, and other items, and prepares containers by banding, sealing, gluing, nailing, labeling, and stenciling them with appropriate identification. The role weighs, transports, stacks, and arranges products and packed containers; applies heat-shrink materials to tubes, pipes, or other items; monitors product quality and reports defects or malfunctions to supervisors; and assists with maintenance and repairs as needed. All work must follow established safety procedures.

The position is based at Sonoco’s Plug Plant in Hartselle, Alabama, and is scheduled for second shift, 2 p.m. to 10 p.m. The listed pay is $21.53 per hour plus a $0.75 shift differential. The work environment may involve noise, vibration, heat, cold, chemicals, greases, and lubricants. • Must be able to read, write, and speak English.
