Packaging Tech II
About The Position
The Packaging Tech II performs routine manufacturing, packaging, and inspection activities for commercial products, Clinical Trial Material (CTM), and associated components. Work is conducted according to approved Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), Master Batch Records (MBRs), current Good Manufacturing Practices (cGMPs), and established safety and compliance requirements. The role operates packaging-line equipment, supports check-weighing and cleaning activities, performs basic ERP and MES transactions, maintains accurate documentation, and works collaboratively with Packaging Technicians under the guidance of the Group/Team Leader and Packaging Manager. Assignments are completed with moderate supervision, with detailed guidance provided for new or unfamiliar work. Requirements
- High School Diploma and a FETAC Level 6 Certificate (GSL).
- At least 2 years of relevant experience in manufacturing, packaging, production, or a related environment.
- Familiarity with SOPs and MBRs.
- Ability to work with automated manufacturing or packaging lines.
- Ability to troubleshoot equipment-related issues and perform changeovers.
- Ability to follow established procedures, written instructions, and management direction while working with moderate supervision.
- Ability to recognize deviations from established procedures and appropriately escalate concerns.
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Office applications and basic administrative procedures.
- Effective verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills, including clear communication with peers, team leads, and management.
- Ability to work effectively and collaboratively in a team-based manufacturing environment.
Nice To Haves
- Understanding of or previous exposure to cGMPs; prior experience in a cGMP-regulated industry is desirable.
- Basic familiarity with ERP and/or MES systems.
Responsibilities
- Perform routine manufacturing and packaging activities according to approved SOPs, MBRs, and cGMPs.
- Support manufacturing, packaging, and inspection of commercial products, CTM, and associated components.
- Set up and operate packaging-line equipment, including vial labelers, vial label lasers, and carton lasers.
- Set up and perform check-weighing activities.
- Prepare cleaning solutions and routinely clean packaging areas, including walls, ceilings, floors, and manufacturing equipment.
- Perform basic transactions in ERP and MES systems.
- Collaborate with other Packaging Technicians under the guidance of the Group/Team Leader and Packaging Manager.
- Follow established safety procedures and practices to maintain a safe, compliant working environment.
- Recognize and report variances or deviations from approved procedures to department management.
- Take action related to process variances or deviations only with appropriate management approval.
- Complete routine assignments using established instructions and procedures while working with moderate supervision.
- Follow detailed instructions and guidance for new or unfamiliar assignments.
- Maintain accurate documentation and support compliance with established manufacturing, packaging, and administrative procedures.
