About The Position

The Packaging Technician is responsible for safely maintaining, repairing, replacing, and modifying processing, packaging, and facility equipment to support optimal quality and efficiency. The role works under general supervision and involves varied, complex assignments that may require originality and ingenuity. The technician may also serve as a resource to others in resolving complex problems and issues.

Requirements

Minimum 2–4 years of experience with industrial, high-speed processing, packaging, weighing, filling, and inspection equipment, or at least one year of technical training or schooling.
High school diploma or equivalent, such as a technical degree.
Specific technical training supporting the maintenance skill summary.
Ability to use a multimeter and other measurement instruments.
Ability to troubleshoot PLC controls, such as Allen-Bradley and GE Fanuc.
Ability to work with computer programs such as Word and Excel.
Ability to demonstrate proficient fabrication and welding systems and welding skills.

Responsibilities

Operate, repair, and maintain Bosch, Hayssen, and Illapak packaging machines.
Troubleshoot electrical, electronic, and pneumatic systems.
Work with interlocks, conveyors, Ishida weigh scales, SSC twin machines, and MDT single machines.
Perform preventative maintenance as needed.
Work with motors, gearboxes, industrial controls, PLC programs, and logic controls.
Operate, repair, and maintain carton-sealing tape machines, including 3M and Little David equipment.
Operate, repair, and maintain ink jet printers.
Adapt procedures, processes, tools, equipment, and techniques to accomplish position requirements.
Fabricate and modify parts using shop equipment and sanitary welding procedures.
Troubleshoot PLC controls, including Allen-Bradley and GE Fanuc systems.
Use a multimeter and other measurement instruments.
Demonstrate fabrication and welding skills.
