About The Position

The Packaging Operator is responsible for packing all products produced at the Creston, Iowa facility. The role involves operating flour packaging equipment and an industrial fork truck, labeling products, monitoring packaging equipment, and maintaining cleanliness and food safety standards in the packaging areas. This position is based in a soy processing facility and involves extended periods of standing, walking, or sitting, as well as exposure to machinery, airborne particles, vibration, and loud noise.

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED, one to three months of related experience and/or training, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Basic computer skills, including experience operating menu-driven programs and using a computer mouse.
• Valid driver's license.

Responsibilities

• Package products using flour packaging equipment.
• Label products to confirm that packaging requirements are met.
• Use appropriate personal protective equipment and follow Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP).
• Operate an industrial fork truck to stage and package products.
• Ensure the bagger and toter are running properly.
• Maintain a clean work environment in packaging areas.
• Clean spills immediately when noticed.
• Follow all GMP requirements.
• Immediately report food safety or quality issues to a supervisor or member of Quality Assurance.
• Perform other duties and responsibilities as needed.
