About The Position

Cerro Wire LLC, part of Marmon Holdings, is hiring an IN Packaging Operator for the C shift, scheduled from 6 p.m. to 6 a.m. The operator runs packaging machines and auxiliary equipment to package reels and coils while ensuring the finished product has the required specifications and cosmetic presentation. The role includes operating and making adjustments to production machinery, performing quality and piece-count checks, recording production information, and maintaining a clean and safe work area. Candidates may be cross-trained on additional packaging lines. Additional duties may be assigned.

Responsibilities

Set up, load, unload, and operate packaging machines to package finished products according to specifications.
Complete pre-shift, end-of-shift cleaning, and changeover checklists, and update workstation metrics and line boards.
Run the primary line safely at line speed while maintaining good quality.
Cross-train and qualify to operate additional packaging lines at entry-level requirements.
Ensure reel and coil measurements are accurate according to specifications.
Use the workstation computer to enter production, scrap, downtime, and maintenance work orders.
Adjust machinery to achieve an even lay.
Wrap coils and spools with plastic wrap as necessary.
Check wire for cosmetic quality and color print.
Print and apply labels to coils and spools as necessary; assist with hand-packing finished products for shipment, including correct labels, boxes, and pallet patterns.
Load reels into the payoff for spooling or coiling.
Verify piece counts.
Maintain a clean work area and observe company and safety rules.
Participate in Lean events, housekeeping, and safety audits as needed.
Perform other assigned tasks and duties.
