About The Position

The Packager packages finished food products at the end of the manufacturing process in a refrigerated food manufacturing plant. The role checks packaging materials and products against company specifications, seals packages and boxes, removes defective products, and helps keep the production area clean and organized. Employees must follow company safety guidelines and Good Manufacturing Practices. Regular attendance and punctuality are required because the work involves people, items, and equipment at the facility. The work environment is wet and cold, with temperatures ranging from 25°F to 110°F. The position involves repetitive hand, wrist, and finger activities, as well as repetitive lifting, kneeling, and bending with items over 20 pounds. Walking and standing for long periods are required. Production demands may require overtime and evening or weekend scheduling. Responsibilities

Check for correct packaging boxes and containers.
Ensure product dates and weights are within established guidelines.
Seal filled product packages and boxes.
Examine containers, materials, and products to ensure packaging meets company specifications.
Remove defective products or packages from the production line.
Assemble product containers on an assembly line.
Maintain a clean and organized work area.
Follow company safety guidelines and Good Manufacturing Practices.
