Full-time Package Handler

About The Position

The Full-Time Package Handler loads, unloads, and sorts freight accurately and promptly to support quick delivery. The role includes unloading packages by hand from fleet vehicles, scanning barcodes for tracking, sorting packages by zip code, city, or state, and stacking freight in trailers and routes to prevent damage and use space efficiently. The position also involves washing fleet vehicles as needed and performing light custodial duties to help maintain a clean and safe warehouse. The schedule is Tuesday through Saturday, 12:00 a.m. to 8:30 a.m., with 10–15 hours of overtime expected each week. Overtime is paid at one and a half times the regular rate after 40 hours per week. Pay is $21.00–$26.25 per hour, based on experience.

Requirements

Be at least 18 years of age.
Ability to bend, lift, twist, carry, and slide freight.
Ability to lift up to 75 pounds.
Ability to spend a minimum of 8 hours on your feet.
Ability to work with various types of freight, including hazardous material, perishable food and alcohol, firearms, ammunition, and live animals.
Must be able to pass a criminal background check.

Responsibilities

Unload packages by hand from fleet vehicles.
Scan package barcode labels while unloading for tracking purposes.
Sort packages by zip code, city, or state.
Stack freight into trailers and routes in a way that prevents damage and uses space efficiently.
Wash fleet vehicles as needed to maintain the company image.
Perform light custodial duties to maintain a clean and safe warehouse environment.
Perform other duties as assigned.
