About The Position

The Full-Time Package Handler loads, unloads, and sorts freight accurately and in a timely manner to ensure quick delivery. The role works Monday through Friday, starting at 10:00 PM, with 10–15 hours of overtime expected each week. Overtime is paid at time and a half after 40 hours per week. The pay range is $21.00–$26.25 per hour, based on experience; starting pay is determined by relevant experience, qualifications, skills, and internal equity. This is a full-time, nonexempt position. The Package Handler works with a variety of freight, including hazardous material, perishable food and alcohol, firearms, ammunition, and live animals. Applicants must be able to pass a criminal background check.

Requirements

Must be at least 18 years of age.
Must be able to pass a criminal background check.
Excellent verbal communication skills.
Efficient time management skills.
Excellent organization skills and attention to detail.
Ability to read labels at a fast pace and work independently.
Ability to bend, lift, twist, carry, and slide freight.
Ability to lift up to 75 pounds.
Ability to spend a minimum of 8 hours on your feet.
Ability to work with all types of freight, including hazardous material, perishable food and alcohol, firearms, ammunition, and live animals.

Nice To Haves

Responsibilities

Unload packages by hand from fleet vehicles.
Scan package barcode labels while unloading for tracking purposes.
Sort packages by zip code, city, or state.
Stack freight into trailers and routes in a way that prevents damage and uses space efficiently.
Wash fleet vehicles as needed to maintain the company image.
Perform light custodial duties to maintain a clean and safe warehouse environment.
Perform other duties as assigned.
