Full-time Package Handler

About The Position

The Full-Time Package Handler loads, unloads, and sorts freight accurately and in a timely manner to support quick delivery. Work includes handling packages by hand, scanning barcodes, sorting by destination, and stacking freight in trailers and routes to prevent damage and use space efficiently. The role may also include washing fleet vehicles and performing light custodial duties to maintain a clean and safe warehouse environment. The position is full-time, nonexempt, and classified as Paygrade B. Available shifts are Monday through Friday with either a 5:00 PM or 10:00 PM start. An estimated 10–15 hours of overtime are expected each week; overtime is paid at time and a half after 40 hours per week. The hourly pay range is $20.00–$25.25, based on experience; starting pay is determined by relevant experience, qualifications, skills, and internal equity.

Requirements

At least 18 years of age.
Ability to bend, lift, twist, carry, and slide freight.
Ability to lift up to 75 pounds.
Ability to spend a minimum of 8 hours on your feet.
Ability to work with different types of freight, including hazardous material, perishable food and alcohol, firearms, ammunition, and live animals.
Excellent verbal communication skills.
Efficient time management skills.
Excellent organization skills and attention to detail.
Ability to read labels at a fast pace and work independently.
Must be able to pass a criminal background check.

Responsibilities

Unload packages by hand from fleet vehicles.
Scan package barcode labels while unloading for tracking purposes.
Sort packages by zip code, city, or state.
Stack freight into trailers and routes to prevent damage and use space efficiently.
Wash fleet vehicles as needed to maintain the company image.
Perform light custodial duties to maintain a clean and safe warehouse environment.
Perform other duties as assigned.
