About The Position

Spee Dee Delivery is a family-owned and operated company founded in 1978. Its core business is standard, next-day, ground delivery, and it has expanded throughout the Midwest. The Part-Time Package Handler loads, unloads, and sorts freight accurately and promptly to support quick delivery. The position is listed as full-time, nonexempt, and Paygrade A, with available shifts Tuesday through Saturday from 6:00 AM to 9:30 AM or Monday through Friday from 4:30 PM to 8:30 PM. Pay is $19.00–$24.25 per hour, based on experience; starting pay is determined by relevant experience, qualifications, skills, and internal equity. Candidates must be at least 16 years old and able to pass a criminal background check. A high school diploma or equivalent is preferred.

Requirements

At least 16 years of age.
Excellent verbal communication skills.
Efficient time management skills.
Excellent organization skills and attention to detail.
Ability to read labels at a fast pace and work independently.
Ability to bend, lift, twist, carry, and slide freight.
Ability to lift up to 75 pounds.
Ability to work with all types of freight, including hazardous material, perishable food and alcohol, firearms, ammunition, and live animals.
Must be able to pass a criminal background check.

Responsibilities

Unload packages by hand from fleet vehicles.
Scan package barcode labels while unloading for tracking purposes.
Sort packages by ZIP code, city, or state.
Stack freight into trailers and routes to prevent damage and use space efficiently.
Wash fleet vehicles as needed to maintain the company image.
Perform light custodial duties to maintain a clean and safe warehouse environment.
Perform other duties as assigned.
