About The Position

Under the supervision of the PACE Transportation Coordinator, the PACE Driver transports PACE participants to and from their destinations, including the center/day clinic and appointments related to approved PACE-covered services. The driver interacts continuously with participants, caregivers and families, and community agencies. The role also involves communicating changes in participants to the PACE Transportation Coordinator for input to the Interdisciplinary Team (IDT). The schedule is PRN (as needed).

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED.
• At least 1 year of experience transporting individuals with special mobility needs.
• At least 1 year of experience working with a frail or elderly population, or willingness to receive appropriate training upon hire.
• Ability to work positively in a diverse and stressful environment.
• Must have or be willing to obtain first aid training.
• Must maintain CPR certification.
• Valid driver’s license in accordance with policy and proof of automobile insurance.
• Knowledge of safety and infection control requirements in a healthcare environment.
• Knowledge of automobile and medical equipment use and maintenance.
• Ability to communicate clearly and effectively.
