About The Position

The PaaS Database Automation Engineer Consultant designs, implements, and manages database assets in cloud environments using enterprise automation and monitoring tools. The role applies cloud-based technologies and customizes cloud systems to meet performance, maintenance, and security requirements. It is a work-from-home position that may be performed remotely from anywhere within the continental United States, excluding California, New York, Alaska, and Hawaii. Sponsorship is not available, including for candidates currently on OPT.

Requirements

Bachelor’s degree and 6 years of Information Technology experience, or technical certification and/or college courses and 7 years of Information Technology experience, or 9 years of Information Technology experience.
Experience with Azure SQL databases and Azure SQL Managed Instances.
Automation experience with Ansible and Harness.
Experience with as-a-Service technologies.
Experience with cloud orchestration and management technologies.
Experience with monitoring and event management technologies.
Experience with automation technologies.
Operations management experience.
Experience with ITIL v3.
Experience with IT standards, procedures, and policies.
Understanding of business priorities, industry trends, and markets.

Nice To Haves

Master’s degree in Computer Science, MIS, or a related field.
Development experience in a language such as C#, Java, or Python.
Experience with Azure networking and security.

Responsibilities

Design, implement, and manage database assets in cloud environments using enterprise automation and monitoring tools.
Customize cloud systems to meet performance, maintenance, and security requirements.
Set up infrastructure-as-code automation to provision Cosmos DB, Azure SQL Database, Azure SQL Managed Instance, Azure Database for PostgreSQL, and related PaaS databases.
Set standards and establish best practices for PaaS database automation.
Work with database subject matter experts to establish database automation standards and provision environments.
