P6 Construction Scheduler

LCR EPC LLCEnfield, CT
Hybrid

About The Position

The P6 Construction Scheduler is a core Project Controls role responsible for developing, maintaining, and communicating accurate, logic-driven project schedules across our portfolio of EPC power infrastructure projects. Using Oracle Primavera P6 as the primary platform, you will own schedule integrity from baseline through monthly updates, look-aheads, and recovery planning. You will partner closely with Project Managers, Superintendents, Estimators, and Project Controls to ensure schedules reflect real field progress, resource constraints, and critical path risk. This is a hands-on role for someone who understands construction sequencing in solar, BESS, substation, and transmission work and can translate that knowledge into clear, decision-useful schedules that drive execution and accountability.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or related field preferred; equivalent experience considered.
  • 4+ years of construction scheduling experience with strong proficiency in Oracle Primavera P6 (required).
  • Demonstrated experience building and maintaining CPM schedules for multi-discipline construction projects.
  • Solid understanding of construction sequencing, critical path method, resource loading, and progress measurement.
  • Ability to translate field conditions and Superintendent input into accurate schedule logic and durations.
  • Strong analytical skills and clear written/verbal communication; comfortable presenting schedule status to project and senior leadership.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office (especially Excel); willingness to work within construction project controls ecosystems (Trimble, etc.).

Nice To Haves

  • Direct experience scheduling utility-scale solar, BESS, substation, transmission, or heavy civil / power infrastructure projects.
  • Experience with resource-loaded schedules, earned value integration, and schedule risk analysis.
  • Familiarity with delay analysis, time impact analysis, and forensic scheduling techniques.
  • Prior experience in a self-performing EPC or general contractor environment with multi-project portfolios.
  • PMP, PSP (Planning & Scheduling Professional), or similar certification a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Develop detailed, logic-driven CPM schedules in Primavera P6 from estimate data, drawings, work packages, and input from Project Managers and Superintendents.
  • Establish and maintain baseline schedules that reflect realistic durations, sequencing, resource constraints, and contractual milestones.
  • Incorporate civil, structural, electrical, commissioning, and owner/utility interfaces typical of utility-scale solar, BESS, substation, and transmission projects.
  • Support preconstruction and proposal efforts with conceptual and detailed schedules as needed.
  • Perform regular schedule updates based on field progress, earned value data, and input from Project Managers and Superintendents.
  • Produce clear critical path analysis, float reports, and variance explanations for leadership and project teams.
  • Develop and maintain short-interval look-ahead schedules (3-week / 6-week) that drive weekly planning and resource allocation.
  • Identify schedule risks early and support development of recovery or acceleration plans when projects fall behind.
  • Align schedule activities and WBS with job cost structures, cost codes, and reporting used by Project Controls and Finance (including Trimble HeavyJob/HeavyBid or equivalent).
  • Support earned value and progress measurement processes by ensuring schedule and cost data remain consistent.
  • Coordinate with Estimators on historical productivity data, durations, and crew sizing assumptions for future bids and current forecasts.
  • Maintain schedule version control, baselines, and documentation suitable for internal reporting and, when required, owner or surety submissions.
  • Present schedule status, critical path issues, and recommendations clearly to Project Managers, Superintendents, and senior leadership.
  • Facilitate or support schedule review meetings and pull-planning sessions with field and project teams.
  • Support delay analysis, time impact analysis (TIA), and change-order schedule impacts when required.
  • Help build scheduling discipline and standard practices as the company scales its project controls function.
