The Process & Controls Commissioning Engineer will perform acceptance testing and pre-commissioning of protection and control (P&C) equipment in the factory using procedures set-forth by Systems Control and its utility partners. This role involves applying protective relay settings and performing tests to validate proper function, as well as applying RTU settings and verifying status, metering, and control functions. The engineer will troubleshoot and problem-solve when deficiencies are identified, and perform testing procedures, documenting results completely in accordance with internal and customer-specific requirements. Keeping up-to-date with utility industry trends and practices through training, providing technical support to engineering, manufacturing, and test departments, and identifying potential process improvements are also key aspects of the role. The engineer will notify designers and engineers of deficiencies found during testing and execute testing procedures to ensure P&C design elements are properly applied and functioning as intended.
